explosions in the air
i went to watch the fireworks display at marina bay yesterday. there were SO many people there, it is like half of sg is there. i never knew the CBD is so crowded at night (was it because of the fireworks?), and i must admit that the skyscrapers in sg look nice at night. of course, when there are so many people, you are bound to meet some familiar people, it is more coincidental than usual. anyway, everyone was packed like sardines everywhere along the coast. i realise that being tall has many advantages like fresh oxygen and a better view than others. but unfortunately, i was still shorter than most adults there so i almost suffocated. anyway, the fireworks were pretty, and there was even music to accompany the display. haha. we tried to take photos but we realised that it is really really challenging. for example, you feel that the scene at that current second is spectacular so you press the button on your camera. after 2 seconds, your camera takes the picture. and when you go through your pictures, all you have is fading polka dots or worse still, a blank sky. it is really crazy. and btw, there is an unmistakable round white thing at the bottom of every photo. haha... it is the MERLION head lah. it is so irritating.but anyway, i think it was worth it to go and watch. but if i ever want to go again, i will go there like 2 hours earlier to get the best seats. wish i got better pictures though. how much air pollution does 15 minutes of fireworks cause?
